Swarnaprashana drops from AyurvedaOne are a ready-to-give preparation of the classical Ayurvedic practice of giving children processed gold (Swarna Bhasma) with ghee, honey and herbs for the mind (Medhya). This formula uses Brahmi, Shankhapushpi and Vacha. Ayurveda traditionally uses Swarnaprashana to support immunity, digestion, memory and overall growth. It comes in age-wise packs for 1–5, 5–10 and 10–15 years, so parents don’t have to guess the strength.
What is Swarnaprashana, and why do parents give it?
Swarnaprashana, also called Swarna Bindu Prashana, means “licking gold.” It is described in the Kashyapa Samhita, the classical Ayurvedic text on children’s health, and is linked to the Jatakarma samskara, the rites performed after a child’s birth.
Parents usually choose it as a preventive habit rather than a remedy. They often start before school begins, before the monsoon, or when a child keeps catching seasonal colds. For a deeper look at its history, read our complete Swarnaprashana guide for parents.
What is inside AyurvedaOne Swarnaprashana drops?
AyurvedaOne Swarnaprashana drops combine purified gold with three herbs traditionally used for children’s minds, carried in ghee and honey:
| Ingredient | Traditional Ayurvedic role |
|---|---|
| Swarna Bhasma (processed gold) | Rasayana (rejuvenative); traditionally used for strength and immunity |
| Brahmi | Medhya herb; traditionally used for memory and focus; see Brahmi benefits |
| Shankhapushpi | Traditionally used to support concentration and learning |
| Vacha | Traditionally used to support speech, alertness and digestion |
| Ghee and honey | Anupana (carriers) that help the formulation be absorbed and taste better |
Gold must undergo classical purification (shodhana) before it is safe to use. Unprocessed or poorly processed gold can carry heavy-metal risk. This is why the manufacturer matters more for Swarnaprashana than for almost any other children’s product.
What are the benefits of Swarna Bindu Prashana?
Swarna Bindu Prashana is traditionally given to support four areas of a child’s development:
- Immunity (Bala): resistance to recurring seasonal coughs and colds
- Intellect (Medha): memory, attention and learning
- Digestion (Agni): appetite and digestion in children who eat poorly
- Growth and complexion: described in the classical texts
An honest note on evidence: most of these benefits come from classical texts and practitioner experience. Small clinical studies in infants have looked at immune markers, but larger trials are still needed. Swarnaprashana does not replace your child’s vaccination schedule or medical treatment for any condition.
How do you give Swarnaprashana drops, and what is the dose by age?
Give Swarna Prashana drops orally, preferably on an empty stomach, with a 15–30 minute gap before and after food.
| Age group | Dose |
|---|---|
| 1–5 years | [drops per label] |
| 5–10 years | [drops per label] |
| 10–15 years | [drops per label] |
You can follow either of two schedules:
- Daily course: once daily for 30 days, which can be extended to 6 months under guidance.
- Monthly ritual: once a month on Pushya Nakshatra, as long-term support.
Most parents notice gradual changes, such as fewer sick days and better appetite, only after about three months of regular use.
Why is Swarnaprashana given on Pushya Nakshatra?
Pushya Nakshatra is the lunar asterism that classical tradition considers most auspicious for Swarnaprashana. It recurs roughly every 27 days. Many families give the monthly dose on this day, and Ayurvedic clinics often hold Swarnaprashana camps on it.
If you choose the daily course instead, starting on a Pushya day is traditional but not required.
Is Swarnaprashana safe for children and babies?
When it comes from a licensed, GMP-certified manufacturer and is given at the labelled dose, Swarnaprashana is generally well tolerated. Mild, temporary loose stools are the most commonly reported reaction.
Three precautions matter:
- Babies under 12 months: the formulation contains honey, and paediatric guidelines advise avoiding honey before the first birthday. Speak to your paediatrician and an Ayurvedic doctor before giving it to an infant.
- Quality: buy only from manufacturers who show a batch number, expiry date and manufacturing licence on the pack.
- Health conditions: if your child has a chronic illness or takes regular medication, check with their doctor first.
AyurvedaOne Swarnaprashana is made in GMP-certified facilities. The group operates facilities compliant with GMP, ISO, FSSAI and AYUSH standards.
How are Swarnaprashana drops different from regular immunity syrups for kids?
Most children’s immunity syrups are vitamin blends or single-herb tonics given every day. Swarnaprashana combines a Rasayana (processed gold) with herbs for the mind, so it is traditionally aimed at immunity and cognitive development together. It can also be given just once a month.
Many parents build a simple routine around it:
- Swarnaprashana as the base
- Seasonal home care during cold weather; see our Ayurvedic treatment for cold and cough
- Daily habits from our immunity booster for children guide
For children an Ayurvedic doctor feels need more targeted support, Shishu Kalyana Rasa is another option in our Kids & Family Care range. Give it only on a doctor’s advice.
Can the whole family follow an Ayurvedic immunity routine?
Yes. Swarnaprashana is for children, but adults can use other formulations. Options in our Ayurvedic immunity range include Guduchi Churna, explained in our Giloy guide, and Tulasi Tablets. Our guide on how to improve immunity naturally covers diet and sleep habits for the whole household.
Why buy Swarnaprashana drops from AyurvedaOne?

- Manufacturing: made in GMP-certified facilities in Bangalore, Udupi and Gujarat.
- Age-wise packs: each pack is matched to an age group, so you don’t have to calculate doses.
